Service Restored – Cisco VOIP Telephone – 2/6/2023 2:30pm
Full telephone service was restored by 2:30pm Monday February 6, 2023.
As of 10:21 am we have been experiencing an outage with inbound calls, outbound calls are not affected. We are working with our service provider to determine the cause of the issue and roll out a fix. We currently do not have an ETA on service restoration.

NJIT IST Networking will be performing maintenance on the internal campus network on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 5 AM to 6 AM. There will be no network connectivity (WiFi or wired), internet, VPN or phone service during this time.
All enterprise IT services (e.g. Banner, DegreeWorks, TouchNet, Infosilem, Webmail, Canvas, etc) will be unavailable.
This maintenance is being performed to upgrade software and improve network reliability.

IST Unified Communications and Networks (Telecom) will upgrade the NJIT telephone system on Friday December 9, 2022 9:00 PM to Sunday December 11, 2022 3:00 AM. During this maintenance window most telephone services will not be impacted. Service impacting upgrades will be performed off hours:
Friday December 9, 2022 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM: Some Jabber authentication services may not be available.
Saturday December 10, 2022 10:00 PM to midnight: Office phones will automatically restart and will be unavailable for 3 minutes. If a phone is in use, the restart will be performed after the call completes.
Sunday December 11, 2022 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM: Emergency phones and FAX lines will be unavailable for 10 minutes.

IST Unified Communications and Networks (Telecom) will update and replace the networking equipment in Fenster Hall Floors 1,3,4,5,6,7 and parking areas. This is being done to increase capacity and increase network performance in the building. The upgrade will be performed on the following schedule:

On December 4, 2022 the Information Services and Technology (IST) division will perform network upgrades/maintenance to the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors of Fenster Hall. This work will increase network performance and allow IST to replace older equipment.
In order to minimize any inconvenience, this work will be performed on Sunday, December 4 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. During this time there will be no network connectivity (WiFi or wired) or phone service in these locations (red emergency phones will not be impacted).
