UPDATE: The name "Record+" will be used in place of "Review+".
ProctorU has rebranded proctoring service names. This is a change in name only and does not impact or alter the services NJIT has available for proctoring. If you were previously using Review+ as a proctoring solution for your course, you may continue to use the same service under the name Record+.
ProctorU Record+ (formerly called Review+) uses an automated proctoring solution via AI during the exam, followed by a full review from a ProctorU proctor. Similar to Respondus Monitor and LockDown Browser, your webcam and screen activity will be recorded during the exam. After completing their review, a proctor sends an incident report to the instructor if any potential academic integrity violations occur.
Students will need to make a test-taker account at proctoru.com.
In order to use this ProctorU service, you will need the following:
- High-speed internet connection
- Webcam (internal or external)
- Microphone and Audio (internal or external)
- Windows or Apple Operating System
- NJIT ID or Photo-Issued ID
After making your ProctorU account, download the browser extension for either Chrome or Firefox and log into your account via the browser extension. After logging into the browser, you can access your exam in your course and proceed to the ProctorU startup sequences. As long as you are logged into the browser with your ProctorU account, you will not need an exam password or access code; the browser extension will automatically enter that information to open the exam for you. Instructions are available for both Canvas and Moodle.
Important Notice for OSX Users: You will need to enable screen sharing in your browser prior to taking the exam.
Tips for Ensuring a Smooth Experience while using Record+ (formerly called Review+):
- Important: ProctorU recommends that you visit https://test-it-out.proctoru.com/ to test your equipment prior to your proctoring session. We recommend you click on the button that says "Connect to a Live Person" to fully test out your equipment.
- For additional information about ProctorU, please visit their General FAQ page.
- For equipment requirements and help, please visit ProctorU’s Equipment FAQ page for additional information.
- Make sure you are logged out of your ProctorU account in all other browser tabs/windows.
- Do a computer/browser restart right before taking the exam.
- Whenever possible, use an ethernet (wired) connection when taking an exam. Intermittent lag, timeouts, and dropped/interrupted connections may occur via wireless connection and can cause issues such as Record+ (formerly called Review+) disconnecting from the exam, freezing-up on users with weak/slow connections, quiz answers not being saved or submitted, and embedded images in the quiz loading very slowly or not at all.
If you encounter technical difficulties with your exam, you should contact ProctorU's 24/7 technical support via Live Chat, call 855-772-8678 or by email (help@proctoru.com).
