Jabber allows NJIT faculty and staff to make calls and answer phone calls to their office extension from their computer, mobile phone, or other devices, no matter where they are.
Note Jabber must not be used to make emergency calls to 911. Instead, use a home, mobile, or office phone to make emergency calls to 911.
Accessing Jabber
Jabber for Windows and Mac is available for download from IST Software.
Jabber is also available for Android and iOS mobile devices from their respective app store.
How do I turn off the Video being sent automatically?
Click on the icon with your initials located in the top left corner.
Select Settings.
Scroll down and select Audio and Video.
Under the Video section, deselect Send Automatically by scrolling the blue toggle button on the left.
How do I set up Jabber to launch on startup?
Windows PC
Open Jabber.
Click the gear icon located in the upper-right.
Select Options from the drop-down menu, then the General tab.
Under the Startup heading, check Start Cisco Jabber when my computer starts.
