SAS is a statistical software package used for predictive and descriptive modeling, data mining, text analytics, forecasting, optimization, simulation, experimental design and more.
SAS University Edition is free online access to the SAS software for students for learning statistics and quantitative methods. This is not a full version of SAS. It contains Base SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS/ML, SAS Studio, and SAS Access. Can be downloaded directly from SAS and runs on PC and Mac or launched in a cloud via Amazon Web Services. Can be installed on any personal or NJIT owned machine. SAS University Edition runs as a virtual machine on your native operating system and is available to use via a web browser.
To install SAS University Edition follow the Quick Start Video. You will be required to create an account with SAS. Use your NJIT email (UCID@njit.edu) to create SAS profile.
SAS OnDemand for Academics allows faculty members to include their entire class to have access to all of the SAS features. This software cannot be downloaded and can only be used via the internet in the SAS Cloud.
Available only to staff and faculty. You can download SAS Education Analytical Suite from our IST Software Download page.
Computing Labs
SAS University Edition is installed on NJIT computing labs. If you are using SAS in the labs you must export all your files to external or cloud storage. Otherwise your files will be available to anyone who access SAS.
