Canvas Release Notes: April

In this month’s Canvas release, there will be changes to SpeedGrader and New Quizzes.

When creating a new item bank within the New Quiz’s Build page, instructors can now share the bank with the current course. This change will reduce the number of steps needed to share an item bank and improve workflows.

In New Quizzes, instructors will now be able to grade by question in SpeedGrader. When in Grade by Question mode, the question navigation bar will become available. The location of the “Update Score” button has been updated. For any questions requiring manual grading, such as open-ended questions, hyperlinks will be available. To use this feature:

  1. Open the quiz in SpeedGrader.
  2. Click on the gear icon and select Options from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the SpeedGrader options, you may then enable the “Grade by question” toggle and save your settings.
