Improved Inbox Functionality

The Inbox has received further improvements to functionality and user experience. This update utilizes InstUI for the Inbox, Instructure’s internal design language, to provide improvements to accessibility and quality experiences.

Grading Scheme Redesign

 

Grading Schemes page

Previously, grading schemes were only displayed on a dedicated page. In Course Settings, instructors can view and edit individual grading schemes in a modal. Instructors can make a copy and edit a new grading scheme. Instructors can make a copy and edit it to create a new grading scheme. Selecting the “Manage All Grading Schemes” link will also display a modal. 

 

Default grading scheme view or edit button

In the Course Settings, when “Enable course grading schemes” is selected, a drop-down menu displays. When multiple grading schemes are available, instructors can use the drop-down menu to select a grading scheme (1) and then click the “View/Edit” button (2).

 

Editing a copied grading scheme

When clicking on the “edit a copy” button, Instructors will then be able to make a copy of the default grading scheme as a template and edit it. 

 

Managing all course grading schemes.

When “Manage All Grading Schemes” is selected, a modal displays all the gradings schemes available for the course. 

 

To view or edit your grading schemes.

When editing an assignment, a grading scheme drop-down menu will appear when the “Display Grade as” setting is set to Letter Grade or GPA Scale (1). Instructors can use the “View/Edit” button to display individual grading schemes (2). Clicking on the “Manage A;; Grading Schemes” link has also been updated.
