A cloud-based security platform providing an additional line of defense against malicious software and other threats on the internet for all devices connected to the NJIT network.
The Cisco Umbrella Security Service blocks connections to known malicious sites (i.e. one that hosts malware or has been flagged as dangerous). This list of malicious sites is updated continually by Cisco. All devices connected to the NJIT network (wired, wireless, and VPN) receive this protection.
Attempts to connect to a blocked site will show a warning message in your browser. If you believe a site is improperly blocked you can request access by clicking on Report an incorrect block on the warning message.
If you are connected to NJIT VPN from off-campus and encounter the warning message, you can disconnect from VPN to access the blocked site at your own risk.
