Getting Started with NJIT’s IT Services - Faculty/Staff Guide

Follow the steps below to get started using NJIT’s IT services.  If at any point you have questions, contact the IST Service Desk.

1. Visit Human Resources

Visit the Department of Human Resources (Fenster Hall, suite 500) and complete the necessary new hire paperwork, including your I-9 form. Human Resources will enter your information into their system within 48 hours of verifying your eligibility to work. If possible, you may visit HR prior to your first day of employment. For questions, please contact Human Resources at (973) 596-3140.

2. Create Your UCID

After your paperwork is processed by Human Resources, you will be able to Claim Your UCID

3. NJIT Email address

Log into Webmail by Google to check your e-mail.

4. Familiarize yourself with Highlander Pipeline

Log into Highlander Pipeline. Highlander Pipeline gives you the ability to instantly view your class schedule, add/drop courses, view important announcements, and much more.

5. Moodle

Moodle is NJIT’s official learning management system.  Many faculty supplement their face-to-face courses by posting course materials to their Moodle site.

6.  Download software

The IST Software Download page lists all the software products available for NJIT students to download.

7.  NJIT VPN

Virtual Private Networking (VPN) is a service that allows you to connect to the NJIT network from off-campus using the Internet Service Provider (ISP) of your choice. This allows you to securely access NJIT network resources from anywhere at any time.
