MTSS equipment and services can be requested by any NJIT faculty or staff member or an authorized student organization.
Equipment & Service Request Policies
MTSS equipment and services can be requested by any NJIT faculty or staff member or an authorized student organization. Student organizations must attend the semi-annual orientation provided by the Campus Center to become an authorized organization. MTSS does not accept equipment requests directly from individual students without prior written (or email) approval from an NJIT faculty or staff member.
All requests will be addressed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to inventory limitations, we recommend you submit your requests as early as possible.
Same-day equipment requests can sometimes be accommodated by visiting our office in GITC 0300 in-person to sign-out and pick up the equipment. During peak times, some equipment may not be available for sign-out.
No equipment may be kept by a requester past the originally scheduled time without special permission. In many cases, another user needs it immediately after your scheduled use.
All equipment becomes the responsibility of the requestor for the duration of the period requested. If the equipment is lost or damaged, MTSS will charge the cost of repair or replacement to the requestor's department.
Requesting Equipment for Sign-out
MTSS requires a minimum of 24 hours for equipment sign-out requests. All requests must be submitted by using the MTSS Request System. If a request can not be entered online, please send an e-mail to mtss@njit.edu.
Only NJIT faculty, staff, and authorized student organizations are eligible for equipment signout. There is no charge for sign-out requests for equipment owned by MTSS.
Requesting Equipment for Delivery to Classrooms for Instruction
MTSS requires a minimum of 48 hours notice for regular classroom equipment delivery requests (e.g., DVD/Blu-Ray player, document camera/visualizer, etc.). All regular classroom equipment delivery requests must be submitted by using the MTSS Request System. If a request can not be entered online, please send an e-mail to mtss@njit.edu.
There is no charge for approved equipment delivery requests by NJIT faculty, staff, and authorized student organizations for equipment owned by MTSS delivered to available classrooms during MTSS office hours while classes are in session, so long as the equipment is considered normally available for delivery. Please check the MTSS Request System for details.
Requesting Services and/or Equipment for Events
For the NJIT community, MTSS requires a minimum of 1 week’s notice for all service and equipment delivery requests for events, including but not limited to remote and in-person conferences, symposiums, video recordings, department meetings, showcases, etc.
External clients must request MTSS services via the Office of Strategic Events and Conference Services. NJIT community members are given priority, so external clients are encouraged to discuss their requests as early as possible.
All requests for events are subject to a charge. Charges vary based on a number of factors such as equipment and services requested, venue, date, time, and length of the request, equipment and staff availability, etc. Please contact us at mtss@njit.edu to discuss your needs in detail.
