Changing Screen Lock Timers

All University-owned computers will be configured to have a password-enabled screen lock. This security lockout feature should automatically initiate after the computer remains idle from user interaction after a predefined time period, the default setting is 30 minutes. The user must then re-enter their password to gain access to the computer. The general best practice for enabling automatic lockout of a screen lock is to set the timeout so that it can provide adequate security and not be inconvenient to the user. 

Although Information Services & Technology (IST) division has set the default for screen lock lock to 30 minutes we realize the need that Faculty and presenters may need to adjust these setting to accommodate for their individual use, this setting can be altered to individual needs following the instructions below.
