1: How do I get access to Banner?

Self-Service Banner (SSB) access to your personal Banner records is created automatically for students when admitted to the university; and for faculty and staff on their first day of employment. For additional SSB access:

  • Faculty and instructional staff serving as student advisors should have their department request access through the Registrar’s Office.
  • Administrators and staff needing additional SSB access to Banner Finance for procurement on university budget should contact the Office of Financial Systems and Innovation. SSB and INB Banner forms.
  • Faculty and staff needing access for procurement on grants should contact the Research Office.
  • Administrators needing access for payroll time approval should contact the Human Resources Office.

2: Where do I find the entry point to Banner?

Access to both SSB and Internet-Native Banner (INB) is through Highlander Pipeline. Highlander Pipeline requires your UCID as the username and your UCID password. For more information about UCIDs, please click here.

3: How do I access Banner from off-campus? 

Access to SSB is through Highlander Pipeline whether you are on-campus or off-campus.  If you wish to access INB from off-campus, you must initiate a VPN (Virtual Private Network) session first.  This is an added security measure. ​

4: How do I view or download my class roster?

Faculty and instructional staff (including adjuncts) assigned to teach a course section will find all appropriate information on the course section through the Faculty/Staff Services link within Highlander Pipeline.   Class rosters can also be downloaded to a spreadsheet through Moodle. If your class section is not listed, please contact your department chair or department administrator. For additional information about viewing or downloading class rosters, please click here.​

5: I received Banner SSB session timeout message. What should I do to fix it?

1. Clear browsing history. See Step 5 here: https://ist.njit.edu/banner-inb-java-configuration-guide/

2. Close all sessions of the browser.

6: My Banner INB does not load. How can I fix this?

7: I received a "classNotFoudExption" error while logging into the Banner INB. How can I fix this?
