Dialing Patterns:
- Emergency: Dial 911.
- Campus calls: Dial the 4-digit extension.
- 973 area code: Dial 9 + 1 + 973 and the seven digit number. After you dial the number, you will hear two tones. Enter your 6-digit long-distance code and the call will go through.
- Long-distance calls: Dial 9 + 1 + the ten digit number. After you dial the number, you will hear two tones. Enter your 6-digit long-distance code and the call will go through.
- International calls: Dial 9 + 011 + the country code + city code + phone number. After you dial the number, there will be a silent delay and then you will hear two tones. Enter your 6-digit authorization code followed by a “#”.
- Toll-free calls: Dial 9 + 1 + the ten digit number.
- Outgoing telephone calls will still complete if you do not enter the “#” after the authorization code, however, there will be a 10 second delay before the dialing commences.
- When you hear the two tones prompting you to enter your authorization code, eight asterisks (“********”) will be displayed on your Cisco telephone. Your authorization code will not be displayed as you enter it.
- When making external calls via FAX machines, add the “#” after the authorization code.
