Notification of Potentially Compromised Chronicle of Higher Education Accounts

On June 5, 2020 NJIT was notified  by REN-ISAC (Research and Education Networks Information Sharing and Analysis Center) that the Chronicle of Higher Education’s (www.chronicle.com) account database may have been breached in Feb 2020.

A number of NJIT email accounts were listed in this set of compromised credentials at the Chronicle associated with this breach. Although this breach did not involve NJIT systems, we wanted to notify the NJIT community because many individuals use the same password across multiple accounts.

If you are currently subscribed to The Chronicle of Higher Education, we are requesting out of an abundance of caution, you should consider changing  your password at https://myucid.njit.edu/ (click on “Manage Your UCID”).
