To determine what your UCID is, please visit Campus Directory Search.

If you are not in the Campus Directory but are a member of the NJIT community, you must create a UCID and complete your directory entry.

You may create a UCID if you are:

A) an accepted student.

B) a new faculty or staff member who has completed the necessary paperwork at the Office of Human Resources. Please note that first-time adjunct faculty, who have not completed paperwork at the Office of Human Resources at Fenster Hall room 500, may still be authorized for a UCID by following these special instructions.

6: Can student clubs and organizations create a UCID?

Student organizations, a club, fraternities, and sororities are eligible to have a club UCID and club Highlander AFS account.  A UCID will allow the club to be listed in the campus directory.

The club's faculty or staff advisor must contact the IST HelpDesk to request the club accounts.

A Highlander AFS account will give clubs the ability to host web content. All clubs will receive the standard 125mb disk allocation. The url for the club website will be in the form http://web.njit.edu/~clubname.

E-mail

Clubs will receive an official NJIT e-mail address in the form clubUCID @njit.edu. Club web content that is served from AFS will be located at :

        /afs/cad/web/clubs/clubUCID/public_html

In order to modify the club's web content, a UCID must be a member of the AFS group that has write permission in the above directory.

7: I'm an international student, is there any specific information I should be aware of?

If you are an international student attending NJIT, you may not have a valid US Social Security Number. If this is the case, the Office of Univeristy Admissions will have assigned a temporary Social Security-like number to you.  This number begins with 000, is 9 digits long, and can be found on your acceptance letter.

You need a NJIT-ID or Social Security Number to create your NJIT University Computing ID (UCID). A UCID is required for everyone who is a member of the NJIT community. For more information about what a UCID provides you with, click here.

Please note that when creating your UCID, it is important to enter all your information, including your name, exactly as it appears on the acceptance letter you received from the Office of University Admissions even if you believe it is incorrect!!!
This is because the information you enter must be the same as the information we have on record, or else your UCID will not be created. Corrections can be made after you create your UCID by contacting the IST HelpDesk.

Click here to create your UCID.

If you have any additional questions, please contact the IST HelpDesk by calling 973-596-2900.
