The following document will show you how to update your Windows 2000 operating system. - From the Start menu, go into the Control Panel.
- Double-click Automatic Updates.

- Check "Keep my computer up to date."
Select Automatically download the updates... Choose Every Day. For the specific time, choose any hour when you know your computer is not being used. Either overnight (if you leave your computer running) or during your lunch hour. Click OK.

- Using Internet Explorer, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
- Click Express Install (Recommended).
- Please wait for this process to complete.

- Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions. Please restart your computer if you are asked to.
- Repeat Steps 4-7 until you see the following screen:
- To make sure your computer is up to date, repeat steps 4-8 on a weekly basis. Even though Automatic Updates are configured, unforeseen problems can prevent your computer from automatically updating itself. By manually updating windows, you ensure that your computer is safe and secure.
