Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 does not include holidays for the years after 2007. However, Microsoft provides an update patch to add the holidays through 2012. This page provides a link to download the update, and instructions for applying it to your copy of Outlook. If you require further assistance, please contact the IST Computing HelpDesk at x2900. To install the update, you must have Office 2003 Service Pack 2 installed. If you are not sure, visit the Microsoft Office Downloads page and click on the Check for Microsoft Updates button on the right side of the page.
After updating to Service Pack 2, follow these instructions:
- Download the Outlook Holiday Update by clicking here and following the instructions. When prompted, you will want to Run the update from its location.
- Once the holiday update has been installed, you need to add the holidays to your current calendar:
- Open Outlook
- Open the Tools menu and select the Options menu item
- Click the Calendar Options button
- Click the Add Holidays button
- Select the check box next to each country or region whose holidays you want to add to your calendar.
Note: Your own country or region is automatically selected.
If you have already updated the selected country's or region's holidays, you may receive the following message: "Holidays for this country or region are already installed. Do you want to install them again?" Click Yes to update the holidays again.
- Once Outlook has updated the holidays, click OK to finish.
Note: You may have duplicate holidays for 2006 and 2007. Use the By Category Calendar view and delete these items in the Holiday category before importing to eliminate duplicates.
