iPad

The IST division provides limited support for Apple mobile devices - the iPhone and iPad. These devices are easy to setup with the campus wireless and Microsoft Exchange services – email, calendar, and global address book.

Note: Please review the NJIT Mobile Device Support Statement before configuring your mobile device.

iPad best practices:

  • Use a passcode/passphrase to lock the device after inactivity – typically no more than 10 minutes of inactivity should trigger this.

  • When choosing between unsecured Wi-Fi and 3G/4G service, always opt for the cellular data service, as it is typically significantly more secure than unsecured Wi-Fi. If accessing sensitive/protected data, never use unsecured Wi-Fi unless you have access to a VPN client.
