1: What is ADM email?
Faculty and staff should use ADM as their primary e-mail system. ADM is a Microsoft Exchange based email system which will allow you to use all of the advanced features in Microsoft Outlook such as shared calendars and tasks. It also provides full support for mobile and web-based access to information, You will be given a 1GB of storage for you email.
This account is linked to your NJITDM account, sharing the same login credentials. It is strongly recommended that you configure Mailhost to automatically forward all of your e-mail to your ADM account. When away from your desk, you can access the ADM web interface by visiting https://webmail.adm.njit.edu.

3: I have exceeded my disk quota, what do I do?
If you have exceeded your disk quota, you will need to delete e-mails or you can archive them on your computer.
Many faculty and staff members at NJIT use Microsoft Outlook to read and send emails through the ADM email server. Each person in the ADM system gets 1 GB of storage space for their emails, contact information and calendar entries. Unfortunately, this storage space can (and does) get filled up quickly with numerous emails, both sent and received. Email's with attachments take up a greater amount of space.
Once you start getting close to this 1 GB limit, an automated warning email is sent, informing you that your account is close to the limit.
At this time, it is important to free up space in you ADM account. You should archive your older, lesser read emails and save them onto your hard disk drive or back them up onto ZIP disks.
There are two ways to archive emails using Outlook:
Auto Archive or Manual Archive.
Using the Auto-Archive feature in Outlook
This feature of Outlook allows the software to automatically archive old emails/items (depending on their age, which you set) into a file on your hard disk drive or ZIP disk (you get to choose!) and then remove them from the server, freeing disk space.
Follow these steps to configure Outlook for Auto-Archive.
Using the Manual Archive feature in Outlook
This Advanced feature of Outlook allows you to have complete control over when and how the emails will be archived each time you run the tool. You can choose to run this feature only when you get the email warning you of the disk space problem.
Follow these steps to manually Archive emails in Outlook.
Retrieving Archived emails in Outlook
All the archived files are stored as a .pst file. These files can be easily opened from within Outlook.
