OpenAFS installation instructions
Download the OpenAFS client from http://ist.njit.edu/software/download.php, then double click on the file you downloaded to start the installation.
- Click Next

- Click "I accept...", then click Next

- Click Typical

- Change the Default Cell to cad.njit.edu and select the options as shown, then click Next

- Select the options as shown. Click Next

- Click Install

- Wait for the installation to complete

- Click Finish

- Click Yes to restart your computer

- After your computer restarts, you will be prompted to log in to AFS. VPN is required if you are off-campus. Make sure the AFS Cell is cad.njit.edu and enter your UCID and AFS password then click Ok.

The log in dialog is accessible at any time by clicking on the AFS icon which looks like a yellow padlock and is located in the system tray.
To log out, click "Discard These Tokens", and to log back in click "Obtain New Tokens".
- To connect to your AFS drive, click Start, then click My Computer. When My Computer opens, click Tools, then click Map Network Drive

- Enter the folder location as "\\afs\cad\u\" followed by the first letter of your UCID, then a "\", then the second letter of your UCID, then a "\", then your UCID. For example, if your UCID is guest123, the folder location will be "\\afs\cad\u\g\u\guest123".

- You can now access your AFS drive from My Computer
