VPN Client (Cisco Systems)

Platform: Windows
Category: Utility > Network Utility

Allows you to securely connect to NJIT's network and use services typically restricted to use on-campus from an off-campus location.

Virtual Private Networking (VPN) allows you to connect to the NJIT network from off-campus. Certain network services at NJIT can only be accessed from an on-campus computer. VPN creates a "virtual" network connection to NJIT. Although you are off campus, it appears that you are connecting from the campus. This allows you to securely access NJIT network resources when using your Internet Service Provider (ISP), staying at a hotel, or working from another location.

Services That Require VPN:

  • Software Downloads
  • Searching Library Databases
  • Logging into the ALPHA system
  • NJIT News Servers and Discussion Group
  • Securing NJIT Wireless Connection

NOTE: Certain ISPs prohibit the use of VPN or have restrictions on its use. Please contact your ISP for information on using VPN with your Internet service before you proceed.
