A Student Computing Quick Start card is available here.
To get started using the NJIT accounts and services please follow the steps below:

| Click here to create all your accounts. This includes your UCID, Academic Windows account, AFS account, and Webmail by Google e-mail. If at any point you have questions, do not hesitate to contact the IST HelpDesk for assistance. | ||
2. Familiarize yourself with Highlander Pipeline |
| Log into Highlander Pipeline at http://my.njit.edu with your UCID and UCID password. Highlander Pipeline gives you the ability to instantly view your class schedule, add/drop courses, view important announcements, check your email, and much more. For more information, visit the Pipeline support page. | ||
3. Update your Campus Directory Listing |
| The NJIT Campus Directory is the phonebook for the university. It allows you to search for a person's contact information. You will be able to find the person's e-mail address, phone number, location, and homepage. To update your directory information, visit the Campus Directory page and following these instructions. It is your responsibility to make sure your personal entry contains your correct contact information. | ||
4. Check your personal computer against the NJIT Computer Requirements |
| NJIT provides baseline specifications on computers for incoming students. If your existing computer does not satisfy these requirements, you are expected to upgrade your machine (if practical) or purchase a new one that does meet the specifications. NJIT has a partnership with Dell to provide computers that meet the specifications at a discount. For more information, please refer to the Computer Requirement FAQ or contact the IST HelpDesk. | ||
5. Keep your personal computer up-to-date |
6. Public Computing Labs |
| Familiarize yourself with the public computing labs, their locations, hours of operation, and available software. | ||

| Through VPN technology, NJIT is able to provide safe and secure access to its computer network from virtually any location around the world. While connected to NJIT through VPN, the same resources available when physically connected to NJIT's computer network become available. For students, this is generally used for software downloads. | ||
9. Virtual Classroom |
| The Virtual Classroom tools allow you take courses in an online format, meaning through the Internet. Even if you are not taking an eLearning course, many faculty members may use one of these tools in traditional "face-to-face" courses to compliment classroom activities. Some of these tools include: Moodle and iTunes U. | ||
9. Additional resources for students |
| To learn more about the Digital Library, Career Development Services On-line, or Online Classes, please see our additional resources page. | ||
