Aqua Data Studio Activation

Aqua Data Studio can only be activated by pre-approved students, faculty and staff. To qualify, you must be enrolled in or teaching a class that requires Aqua Data Studio. Please contact the helpdesk at 973-596-2900 if you are unable to activate Aqua Data Studio.

You will require:

  • A pre-approved UCID (see above)
  • Product key (obtained from the Aqua Data Studio download page)
  • VPN (On the login window please choose "Full_Tunnel_(Library_Journals)" option.)

1. If you log in to your computer with your NJITDM or Academic domain account, then you can go to step 3. Otherwise, you will need to create a new user account on your computer using your UCID as the username. Make sure this user is an administrator. You MUST create a NEW user account on the PC that is an administrator. Please do not simply rename the current administrator account as that will not work for Aqua Data Studio.

To create a new account:

On Windows 7/8/10

  • From: Control Panel > Add or remove user accounts. If you do not see "Add or remove user accounts", but can see "User Accounts" then double click on User Accounts and then click on "Manage another account" or "Add or remove user accounts", whichever is visible.
    Click "Create a new account"
    Enter your UCID and select Administrator. Then click "Create Account".

2. Log in to your computer using your UCID.

3. Run VPN and connect to NJIT if you are off campus.

4. Start Aqua Data Studio.


5. When prompted to activate, enter the company name as "New Jersey Institute of Technology (Student License)" and the product key you obtained from the download page. Then click Activate. You are now finished activating Aqua Data Studio 12.

6. If you receive the following error or a similar error, make sure you have followed all the steps in these instructions exactly as described. If you still receive an error, please contact the Service Desk at 973-596-2900.
