MatLab renewal information! 10/01/2007
It is time to renew all licenses for all platforms and versions of Matlab. Public labs and the Highlander AFS have been updated already. Those of you with standalone versions can click on the highlighted text to obtain new keys for your current version of MatLab and get the instructions for installing the new license keys. Note - if you access the software download site or request keys from off-campus, you will need to use VPN (virtual private network) software to do so for security reasons.
Windows Vista™ & Office 2007™ at NJIT 03/23/2007
Microsoft released the Windows Vista operating system and Office 2007 Suite on January 30, 2007. Staff members within the Information Services & Technology (IST) Division are evaluating the new software and plan to release an implementation roadmap by late spring 2007. Testing will continue throughout the spring and summer months. Members of the NJIT community supported by IST are asked not to upgrade to the new Windows Vista operating system and Office 2007 Suite until IST is fully prepared to support these new products. New computers can continue to be purchased with Windows XP and they will be upgraded later at an appropriate time. Upgrade for Windows Defender 01/05/2007
Windows Defender is a free program from Microsoft that helps catch and prevent spyware from getting into your PC. Many NJIT PCs have had the beta version of MS Defender on it for some time. That beta version expired on December 31st, 2006, giving an error when you try to use your PC after that date. Microsoft has a free fix that upgrades your version of Windows Defender to the new current release version. If you get the popup error message "Application failed to initialize..." click here to upgrade and then click on the link titled "Windows Defender (Beta 2) expired December 31"
