If you are an international student attending NJIT, you may not have a valid US Social Security Number. If this is the case, the Office of Univeristy Admissions will have assigned a temporary Social Security-like number to you. This number begins with 000, is 9 digits long, and can be found on your acceptance letter. You need a Social Security Number or Student ID to create your NJIT University Computing ID (UCID). A UCID is required for everyone who is a member of the NJIT community. For more information about what a UCID provides you with, click here.
Please note that when creating your UCID, it is important to enter all your information, including your name, exactly as it appears on the acceptance letter you received from the Office of University Admissions even if you believe it is incorrect!!!
This is because the information you enter must be the same as the information we have on record, or else your UCID will not be created. Corrections can be made after you create your UCID by contacting the IST Helpdesk.
