The chart below shows the previous Office file extensions and their Office 2007 counterparts. In all cases, Office 2007 can open, edit, and save in the previous file formats. However, earlier versions of Office cannot open, edit, or save in the new file formats without the Microsoft Compatibility Pack. Click here for more information.
