3: How do I configure my computer (Win 9x) to dial in to NJIT?

1. Double-click on "My Computer."
2. Double-click on the "Dial-Up Networking" icon.
3. Double-click on the "Make New Connection" icon.
4. In the "Type a name..." field enter "NJIT."
5. In the "Select a device:" field, make sure your computer's modem is selected.
6. Click Next.
7. In the "Area code:" field type 973.
8. In the "Telephone number:" field enter 468-3189.
9. In the "Country or region code:" field, make sure United States of America is selected.
10. Click Next.
11. Click Finish.
12. Right-click on the "NJIT" icon.
13. Select "Properties" from the drop down menu.
14. Check the box "Use area code and Dialing Properties."
15. In the "Area code:" field type 973.
16. Click OK.

***Your Username and Password is your UCID and UCID Password***

Your computer is now configured to dial-in to NJIT.

7. Click "Next"
8. Select "Connect to the Internet"

10. Select "Set up my connection manually"
11. Click "Next"
12. Select "Connect using dial-up modem"
13. Click "Next"
14. In the "Connection Name" window enter "NJIT Dial-up" in the "ISP Name" field
15. Click "Next"
16. In the "Phone Number:" field enter 9734683189 (include "1" if you are outside the 973 area code)
17. Click "Next"
18. Select "Anyone's use"
19. Click "Next"
20. In the "Internet Account Information" window enter your UCID in the "User name:" field
21. Enter your UCID Password in the "Password:" field and the "Confirm Password:" field
22. Click "Next"
23. Select "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop"

Once students graduate from NJIT they can no longer access NJIT's network resources. Alumni are able to retain their e-mail account for life.
