3: How do I configure my computer (Win 9x) to dial in to NJIT?
- Double-click on "My Computer."
- Double-click on the "Dial-Up Networking" icon.
- Double-click on the "Make New Connection" icon.
- In the "Type a name..." field enter "NJIT."
- In the "Select a device:" field, make sure your computer's modem is selected.
- Click Next.
- In the "Area code:" field type 973.
- In the "Telephone number:" field enter 468-3189.
- In the "Country or region code:" field, make sure United States of America is selected.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Right-click on the "NJIT" icon.
- Select "Properties" from the drop down menu.
- Check the box "Use area code and Dialing Properties."
- In the "Area code:" field type 973.
- Click OK.
***Your Username and Password is your UCID and UCID Password***
Your computer is now configured to dial-in to NJIT.

- In the "Area code:" field type 973.

- Click "Next"
- In the "User name:" field type in your UCID.
- In the "Password:" field type in your UCID password.

- In the "Connection name:" field type "NJIT"
- Click "Next"
- Select "No"
- Uncheck the box "To connect to the Internet immediately..."
- Click "Finish"

- Click "Setup..."
- Click "Next"
- Select "Connect to the Internet"
- Click "Next"
- Select "Set up my connection manually"
- Click "Next"
- Select "Connect using dial-up modem"
- Click "Next"
- In the "Connection Name" window enter "NJIT Dial-up" in the "ISP Name" field
- Click "Next"
- In the "Phone Number:" field enter 9734683189 (include "1" if you are outside the 973 area code)
- Click "Next"
- Select "Anyone's use"
- Click "Next"
- In the "Internet Account Information" window enter your UCID in the "User name:" field
- Enter your UCID Password in the "Password:" field and the "Confirm Password:" field
- Click "Next"
- Select "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop"
- Click "Finish"
Your computer is now configured to dial in to NJIT.

7: Can NJIT Alumni use NJIT's network resources?
Once students graduate from NJIT they can no longer access NJIT's network resources. Alumni are able to retain their e-mail account for life.
