AFS Password Expiration
AFS Password Expiration

On April 9 2007, as a security measure, AFS password expiration was put  into effect. Starting from that date, a user's AFS password expires 120  days after it is last changed. To avoid interruption of access to their  AFS account, users should change their AFS password before it expires.

To alert users to the impending or recent expiration of their AFS  password, starting on Monday January 7 2008 informational e-mail will  be sent to your UCID@njit.edu, from AFS-pw-mgr@oak.njit.edu, when your  AFS password first meets one of the following conditions :

  •   expires within the next 15 days
  •   expires within the next 5 days
  •   expires within the next day
  •   has expired within the last 30 days

Users must be sure to allow the e-mail address "AFS-pw-mgr@oak.njit.edu" to pass through any e-mail filter they may have, so they do not miss e-mail  notifications of impending AFS password expiration.

 For details, please see http://web.njit.edu/info/password.expiration.notification.php.

If, after reading the information above you still have questions, please  contact the Computing Helpdesk at 973.596.2900.
