If you are off-campus, NJIT provides a bank of 56K V.90 and ISDN 2b+d compatible modems for dial-up access to the NJIT network. Use of these modems require a University Computing ID for authentication. A VPN connection will not be needed if you dial-in to NJIT. All services will be available to you.
Dial-up access may be the right solution if you use only the basic resources of the NJIT Network and do not require access to large amounts of data from off-campus. NJIT provides a bank of 56000 Kb V.90 and ISDN 2b+d compatible modems for dial-up purposes. If the cost of the long distance call is not a practical solution, you might be able to find an Internet Service Provider (ISP) local to your area.
