About IST
The Information Services & Technology Division provides a full range of central information technology services to support the university’s academic, research, student service, administrative, and public services initiatives. The Associate Provost for Information Services & Technology and Chief Information Officer oversees five functional departments:
- Academic Computing Services
- Computer Operations and Production Services
- Telecommunications and Networks
- University Computing Systems
- University Information Systems.
IST partners with several other university organizational units:
Collaboratively, these organizations provide a seamless and robust information resource and technology infrastructure for all NJIT students, faculty, staff, researchers, and alumni. As one of the most computing-intensive campuses in the country, NJIT has long been recognized as a pioneer in the use of information technologies. Most recently:
- In 2010, The Princeton Review features NJIT in the 2011 edition of its annual college guide as one of The Best 373 Colleges (Random House).
- In 2006, The Princeton Review, in conjunction with Forbes.com named NJIT among the top 25 of America’s “most connected campuses” when it comes to offering cutting-edge technology.
- In 2005, EDUCAUSE recognized NJIT with an award for Excellence in Administrative Systems for streamlining student processes “with creativity, efficiency, and effectiveness worthy of emulation.”
