SAS License Update

The following steps will help you update your SAS license. After the license expires, you can continue to use SAS for 90 days. During the last 45 days of this grace period, you will receive a message reminding you to renew the license but will still be able to use the software.

Note: If you installed SAS 9.4 32-bit on 64-bit OS you need to manually find the "Renew SAS Software" utility. Open File Explorer and go to C:\Program Files\SASHome\x86\SASRenewalUtiltiy\9.4. Find "SASRenue" file, click right mouse button on the file and run as an Administrator. After that, you can follow instructions below or the video above. If you are getting error, restart the computer and start the renewing process again. It will work after the restart.

Instructions to update SAS 9.3 in Windows 7:

  1. From the Windows 7 Start Menu, go to SAS (you may have to click "All Programs" to find SAS folder) > SAS 9.3 License Renewal & Utilities > Renew SAS Software.



     
  2. Click Browse.




     
  3. Choose the saved license file from Step 1 and click Open.



     
  4. Click Next.



     
  5. Click OK.



     
  6. Click Next.



     
  7. Click Renew.



     
  8. Click OK.



     
  9. Delete the saved license file from Step 1 to complete the SAS license renewal.
